Fritz Haag
Brauneberger Juffer Sonnenuhr Riesling Grosses Gewachs '19
Family winery Fritz Haag manages an estate dating back to 1605, once favoured by Napoleon. In the capable hands of second-generation winemaker, Oliver Haag, the winery carries on its legacy of crafting impeccably precise Rieslings. Vineyards situated along the banks of the Mosel River are cultivated on hill slopes of up to 80 degrees. The steep terrain maximises drainage and sunlight resulting in wines with developed fruit and uncompromised acidity. Grosses Gewächs is a term of distinction used for dry, single-variety wines from Germany's leading vineyards, aka Grosse Lage which are equivalent to Grand Cru vineyards in Burgundy. Drink now or cellar for another 20 years or more.
