Bourgogne Rouge, Sylvain Pataille '19

Sylvain Pataille is one of the most respected and sought-after winemakers in Burgundy. He and his wife Maryse hold 17ha around Marsannay and also consult with 20 or so makers across the Côte-d’Or and Côte Chalonnaise. He went to wine school when 14 then university in Bordeaux after that so it’s fair to say he has vines for veins. Sylvain along with Bruno Clair are responsible for making Marsannay, just adjacent to Dijon, an appellation worth taking seriously, communicating the terroirs with focus and purity.
