Grand Curoulet Arbois 2018

Domaine de Pelican is among the best producers in Jura. It was born in famous Parisian restaurant where Guillaume d’Angerville from legendary Burgundy domaine Marquis d’Angerville was served Juran chardonnay in a blind tasting. He was so impressed, he briefed Juran geologist Yves Hérody to identify the best parcels in Jura (a process that took 3 years). The domaine is made up of plots around Montigny-lès-Arsures near Arbois and includes 5ha from retiring Juran legend (and ‘Pope of Arbois’) Jacques Puffeney. The best plots of all are Grand Curoulet and En Barbi, the former is made up of grey and multicoloured marls from the Trias geological period, which is the oldest and highest quality. All this adds up a wine of the highest pedigree.
