Bodegas López de Heredia
Tondonia Tinto Reserva 2010
Tondonia is the largest (70ha of the total 170h) and most famous of their three vineyards (Cubillo, Bosconia, and Gravonia) and is located on alluvial slopes overlooking the River Ebro on the cusp of the Alta and Alavesa wine sub-regions. Established in 1877, López de Heredia set out to create ‘supreme Rioja’ in the words of founder, Rafael López de Heredia y Landeta. Fastidious fruit selection, aging in old oak barrels in vast underground cellars, and careful release only after the requisite amount of bottle aging makes this the most sought after among wine nuts.
