Gaia Muscadet

This single-vineyard Muscadet from gabbro soils is a benchmark expression from Jérôme Bretaudeau—widely regarded as one of the most exciting winemakers in France. Known for his meticulous vineyard work and precision in the cellar, he makes among the best, if not the best, Muscadet. Gaia is 100% organic Melon de Bourgogne from the estate’s oldest vines, grown on volcanic rock in Gétigné. Saline and structured, it shows salted lemon, crushed rock and a quiet undertow of honeyed richness. Lees ageing in concrete and large oak adds tension and depth. Serve with raw scallops, fennel gratin or salt-baked celeriac. This Loire Melon shows citrus, mineral tension and textural depth, ideal with scallops or fennel gratin.
