Simon Bize is one of those domaines you dream of discovering. Good underappreciated terroirs in Savigny-Lés-Beaune producing fruit which in the right hands makes serious wines. Owner Patrick Bize oversaw the domaine for 20 years, in which time its stature grew among the insiders and fellow producers, tho sadly he passed suddenly in 2013. His wife Chisa continues their work with long time maker Nicolas Gordo ensuring the legacy endures. A red burg that goes way beyond what you’d expect of a regional wine, providing energy, balance, and structure.
