Wine buzz from the pros this year is all about Central Europe, where bottles once only reserved for local tables are softly arriving in new markets. This month we’ve selected some classic favourites alongside wines from Hungary, Croatia, and Slovakia.

Domaine Hudelot-Baillet Bourgogne Rouge '21

The wines of multigenerational and family-run Domaine Hudelot-Baillet are crafted under the careful supervision of Dominique Le Guen who took over the family estate in 1998 and has since worked diligently to maintain traditional Bourgogne winemaking methods.

Serve with lean meat in a creamy sauce like rabbit, chestnut and mushroom pappardelle, chilli, or a creamy blue cheese.

Expect red fruit, earth, and spice.
