Roagna
Barbera d'Alba
The Roagnas have been winemakers since the late 19th century. Since taking over in 2001, Luca Roagna has stayed true to the traditional wine-making that makes Piedmont so special, whilst fine-tuning judiciously to create pure, distinctive wines across the world. Fruit for ‘Pira’ comes from the historic village of Castiglione Falletto and is hand-selected then fermented with indigenous yeasts. 2014 is seen as one of the best vintages of recent years, showing classic freshness with a generous fruitiness. A great producer, region, vineyard, and vintage makes this a very special wine.
