Sarah Perez runs one of the most respected estates in Spain’s Priorato region (and Spain more generally). Established in 1989, it’s evolved significantly to focus mainly on varieties with heritage like garnacha and cariñena and less so international varieties like merlot, cabernet sauvignon, or syrah. A member of the 5 largest wineries in the region, Mas Martinet is the only established by a non-winemaking family – instead, it was founded by oenologists seeking to express Priorato unique terroirs sustainably. Organic vineyards, concrete tanks, indigenous yeast, and slow fermentation lead to complex flavours.
