This Bierzo Mencía from cult Spanish winemaker Raúl Pérez captures the elegance and lift that have made him a benchmark in modern Spanish wine. Sourced from 50 to 90-year-old vines on clay and slate at 700–900 metres, it is made with whole-bunch fermentation and aged in large, neutral barrels. Expect sour cherry, black tea and wild herbs, with graphite and gentle earthiness on the finish. The texture is silken but structured; acidity is bright, carrying mineral tension through the frame.
